Water resources: the amount of water that fell rains yesterday amounted to one billion cubic meters

BAGHDAD / Sky Press: Mohsen al-Shammari said Minister of Water Resources, on Thursday, that the quantities of heavy rains that took place in several provinces, marketed more than one billion cubic meters of water, while suffering faithful inventories of water scarcity and lack of rain in previous seasons.
Al-Shammari said in a press statement seen by "Sky Press," that "these amounts will affect the recovery and enrich the winter growing season, increase the stock of groundwater, as well as the decline of the tongue salt in the Shatt al Arab.kma will contribute to increasing water stock in dams."
He announced "a complete plan of operations through the chamber formed at the ministry's headquarters in order to rationing and distribution of these quantities and in the prescribed for each of Iraq needs".
The heavy rains fell in the capital Baghdad on Wednesday, which led to the sinking of most of the residential areas in the capital.
