BAGHDAD / NINA / State of Law parliamentary bloc announced it does not know about new packages of reforms, because the Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi did not disclose his desire to represent other packages.
The bloc’s head, Ali al-Adeeb told the National Iraqi News Agency / NINA / “The prime minister has a special committee he depends on in the diagnosis what he believes necessary for reform in multiple directions.”
He added: “What happened, so far, is the announcement of the reform in multiple packages, but their applications sometimes lagging, and this was our question to the Prime Minister.”
Adeeb said: “The state of law and the National Alliance are with the reforms, and the House of Representatives supported the Prime Minister in the austerity process, since the country is currently suffering from a financial crisis.”
He pointed out that “al-Abadi told the leaders of the blocs about his reforms recently and he heard remarks from them.”
He said: “what happened from reforms is in the right direction, but the new packages and their nature; we have not talked about them with Abadi, nor he talked about with the leaders of blocs.”
He made it clear “probably it would be discussed with the experts and the group Abadi depends on to introduce new lists of reforms.”
On whether the reforms are convincing or not, he said: “People’s claims and those who are calling for reform want the corrupt must be held accountable and there should be practical steps.”/ End
