Oil Ministry: Iraq will continue to double production rates

Confirmed Iraqi Oil Minister Adel Abdul-Mahdi, said Thursday his country is seeking to reach a daily production rate of crude oil up to six million barrels by 2020, as pointed out that the current production quantities rate stands at 4.3 million barrels per day.
A statement by the Ministry of Oil and the agency, "our economy" has received a copy of it: for Abdul-Mahdi as saying during his participation in the Forum of Gas Exporting Countries, held in Tehran, "said Iraq's oil production now stands at the rate of 4.3 million barrels per day, pointing out that Iraq will continue forward with the double production rates over the coming years to up to 6 million barrels by 2020 ".
He said he "stressed Iraq's oil minister, on the need to go to Baghdad and Tehran towards the development of relations and enhance the horizon of cooperation between the two countries."
Abdul-Mahdi was with ministers and officials of the oil and gas other than 18 other countries banned for Tehran to participate in the ministerial meeting and the summit meeting of the Forum of Gas Exporting Countries, which was held in Tehran.
