Reduction of customs duties within the requirements of credit standing with the IMF

BAGHDAD - The Cabinet on Sunday approved a special proposal on reducing customs duties within the requirements of the IMF's credit readiness.
"The Council of Ministers' decision included, among the requirements, the unification of customs duties on customs items within the same section and classification of sections into four categories with a minimum fee of 5.0% and a maximum of 30%, based on the provisions of Article 2 / Customs Tariff Law , No. 22 of 2010 Amended. "
He added that "the decision is implemented as of 2018/1/1, in order to give a sufficient opportunity for importers who have contractual obligations to adopt the proportion of customs duties as a basis for the calculation of costs."
The resolution also stipulates "the continued validity of the decisions of the Council of Ministers concerning the protection of the national product and the decisions of prevention and the continued validity of the resolution on the importation of gold and precious metals". Finished
