United Nations: the poverty rate in Iraq, 23 percent

Baghdad, November 16 (Rn) - The United Nations Mission in Iraq on Wednesday, the poverty rate in Iraq of up to 23% confirmed they are working on creating job opportunities for young people in the oil and gas and building the capacity of government institutions to benefit from the experience.
The Director the country of the United Nations Development Programme in Iraq Pietro Ptchelor during a press conference at United Nations Headquarters in Baghdad that "the proportion of poverty in Iraq, according to numbers registered with the United Nations up to 23%," indicating that "the United Nations is working to create job opportunities for citizens in the oil and gas."
He explained that "the mission is building the capacity of government institutions and the provincial councils to take advantage of them," noting that "one of the biggest challenges that Iraq faces is the lack of capabilities of technical frame to provide assistance to the beneficiaries and there is a gap in technical capacity to provide assistance."
He added that the "Our program today works largely on the support of the national reconciliation process in Iraq, especially in the Iraqi parliament as the MPs representing different denominations, we see that if committed parliamentarians to support national reconciliation, the it will reflect positively on the government's commitment to this endeavor."
He Ptchelor that " Today the United Nations is working on a dialogue between the various components in the disputed areas, especially in Kirkuk and Nineveh.
