Thirty soldiers from the Wisconsin National Guard arrived in West Bend at 10 a.m. Saturday, ending a nearly one-year tour in Iraq.
The members of the 2nd Battalion, 135th General Aviation Support Battalion represent the last from Wisconsin to serve in Iraq, according to the Wisconsin Department of Military Affairs.
Gov. Scott Walker, area legislators and the soldiers' families were on hand at the West Bend armory to welcome the troops.
The 2nd battalion - a UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter unit - provided medical evacuation support in northern Iraq with National Guard members from other states.
Since 2003 nearly 10,000 Wisconsin citizen soldiers and airmen have served in Iraq, the Department of Military Affairs said.
