Washington warns of its oil contracts with Kurdistan Region

The United States warned yesterday of the American companies, including Exxon and Mobil oil giant signed a contract with the Kurdistan region in Iraq, contrary to the desire of Baghdad, from the legal risks of such contracts.
Victoria Nuland said a spokeswoman for the U.S. State: "The United States has warned all its companies, including Exxon Mobil as the risk and political risk of significant legal if signed contracts with any party in Iraq before the adoption of a national agreement."
An official in the Iraqi Oil Ministry said last week that Baghdad is considering its options in relation to Paxson Mobil, which last month signed an agreement with the government of Iraqi Kurdistan to explore oil in six regions of the province.
The official said two of those areas and are Prederash Qosh, located in the province of Nineveh, and you want to draw them into the Kurdistan autonomous region, which is rejected by Baghdad. Baghdad is held every other site with the contract null and void. In the past, deprived of Baghdad, oil companies that have signed the contracts in Kurdistan from bidding or signing contracts to other oil fields.
Nuland said "many years ago, the United States urges all parties in Iraq to pass national laws required for the organization of work in the oil and gas."
