The governor of the Central Bank of Iraq, Ali Alalak, on Saturday, February 9, 2019, the existence of direct coordination with the Kurdistan Regional Government and its President, Nechirvan Barzani, noting that "things are becoming very smooth."

Al-Aalak said in a statement to a number of media that "the Central Bank of Iraq opened its branch in the Kurdistan region for about a year and this branch exercises its supervisory and oversight."

He continued: "Therefore there is direct coordination with the Kurdistan Regional Government and with the Prime Minister of the region," stressing that

"things are becoming a great flow between the region and the center."

He pointed out that "all banking activities are now offered by our branch in Erbil, as well as through the banks located there."

On the demand of some deputies to transfer the building of the Central Bank to a hospital, said the words: "We are now preparing an integrated file will be submitted to the Finance Committee in the House of Representatives to clarify the project of the building of the Central Bank and all the stages passed by an old project dating back to 2010 and completed in stages and delayed due to detailed designs Complex."

He added that "we are the management we follow the methods related to the implementation of rules and the study of such projects and there are multiple regulatory bodies to review these operations," explaining that

"the central bank is the most institution in the State of Iraq is subject to a number of regulators: internal and external."
