11/29/2011 | (Voice of Iraq) - Add comments - Erbil received the Dr. Kamal Kirkuki President of the Kurdistan Regional Parliament yesterday Monday, 28/11/2011, at his office in Parliament House, Dr. Barham Ahmed Saleh, Prime Minister of the Government of the Territory and his deputy, Mr. Azad Barwari. And the presence of Dr. Arslan Baez, Deputy Speaker of Parliament Mr. Ahmad First Secretary of the Parliament and Mr. Khaled Saad, the general coordinator between the parliament and the presidency of the Council of Ministers of the Kurdistan Region. At the outset of the meeting, welcomed the President of the Kurdistan Parliament Dr. Barham Saleh and his accompanying delegation. The meeting discussed the coordination and cooperation between the Parliament and the Council of Ministers and the exchange of views aimed at improving services to citizens, and activating the role of parliament in monitoring and follow-up of government affairs. The two sides agreed on the necessity of activating the role of oversight of the work and the activity of ministries and follow-up projects and important issues relevant to the lives of citizens and improve public services for citizens of the Kurdistan Region. In the axis of the meeting, the two sides discussed ways to monitor and improve the living standards of refugees who have returned to the region at the beginning of the Intifada and to help them, in addition to set a date for another meeting between the chair of the Parliament and the Council of Ministers in the presence of members of parliament with the relationship and the heads of parliamentary blocs and the ministers, as well as consideration of the draft general budget and send it to Parliament and to answer questions and queries of the members. The two sides agreed on the overall points that are discussed in the meeting, in addition to the emphasis on the need to increase and improve services to citizens. (SB)
