His Excellency President Jalal Talabani in Baghdad on Wednesday, 30/11/2011 Vice-President of the United States of America, Mr. Joseph Biden.
At the outset of the meeting, the Chairman welcomed the guest and his accompanying delegation, praising the U.S. role in helping the Iraqi people get rid of the most powerful and destroy a dictatorial regime and the establishment of a democratic federal system .. He also praised the U.S. role in the process of rebuilding Iraq and its institutions and to assist in achieving stability.
The President Talabani in his interview with Mr. Biden said Iraq hopes to strengthen relations and development at all levels between the two countries would serve the common interests of the peoples of Iraq and the United States, noting that the next stage is the stage to promote cooperation and joint action in all fields according to the agreement signed between the two countries .
In an interview with His Excellency the President, Mr. Biden that the phase following the complete withdrawal of forces is a vital stage for diplomacy and cooperation in the fields of construction and development, especially in the areas of economic, commercial, agricultural and education, in addition to training, stressing the desire of the United States to develop relations of friendship and cooperation with Iraq in the light of the signed agreement and the desire of both countries to improve the relationship and develop areas of joint action.
It was in the meeting, attended by U.S. Ambassador James Jeffrey and the commander of U.S. forces in Iraq, Gen. Lloyd Austin, talk about the relations between Iraq and its regional and international community, also discussed political developments in Iraq and the role of President Jalal Talabani in the rapprochement between all political forces and work on provide a basis for national action and understanding .. Where he praised the U.S. Vice-President of this vital role, also expressed his pride in the relationship between friendship between him and the President.
