U.S. commander: Iraqi naval forces ready to protect the territorial waters
Baghdad - and babysit - Admiral U.S. Klifand Dquisn The Iraqi Navy is ready to take over the task of protecting Iraq's territorial waters.
Dquisn said on the sidelines of a ceremony marking the handover of the naval base in the port of Umm Qasr, the Iraqi Navy is ready to receive the security file to protect Iraqi territorial waters and oil platforms.
He pointed out that U.S. naval forces handed over to Iraqi Navy laboratory maintenance and repair of marine equipment, to ensure the continuity of maintenance work, noting that the U.S. military is currently ongoing support and training of the Iraqi navy.
This is seen in the country and the withdrawal of the army to pieces by U.S. occupation forces, and is supposed to be a full withdrawal on 30 December and the promise of Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki "the day to meet."
