A member of the Parliamentary Agriculture Committee, MP Jamal Fakher, confirmed this year 2020 is the year of self-sufficiency in Iraq, indicating that the yield of crops banned from import has reached 22 items.
Fakher said in a statement / Ayna News received / a copy of it that “the current year 2020 marked an important start in achieving the principle of self-sufficiency for agricultural crops, poultry products and fish,” noting that
“what happened is the first of its kind in many years and gives a positive indication of Iraq's ability By reaching a comprehensive stage of self-sufficiency in all agricultural materials and crops.
