Baghdad (NINA) – MP, Hamid Al Mutlag, member of the Parliamentary Security and Defense Committee, expressed support to the national initiative that aims at bridging the gap between the political forces to drive Iraq out of political crisis.
Mutlag said in a statement to NINA "any effort exerted to bring the politicians’ viewpoints together will have positive impact on the national unity.”
He added that "the President, the Prime Minister, and political leaders have to focus their attention today to address some of the humanitarian issues facing Iraqis as a gesture of goodwill and so that Iraqis feel that the government stands by them and eases their suffering."
He called for "ending the arrest campaigns, which started to take the shape of collective punishment, as is happening today in Abu Ghraib district, Al Furat area, Ghazaliya, and Adhamiya, and other areas of Baghdad and other provinces." /End/
