Parliamentary Investment Committee calls for an amendment to the laws of ministries held up for investment

Committee called on the economy and investment representative, on Tuesday, an amendment to the comprehensive laws of some ministries that are causing obstruction to invest in the country, indicating that the previous laws opened the door to corruption and caused interference powers.
And still some of the laws of the former Iraqi ministries valid despite the passage of more than eight years to change the regime in the country.
And complaining to the government to restrict some of the ministries of routine and approved in accordance with its laws, and says that one of the main reasons behind the wheel of the delay of construction and reconstruction in the country due to the legacy of previous laws.
Committee Chairman Ahmed al-Alwani told AKnews, "Some ministries are still working the laws of universal, cross of the directions of the new Iraq to work as a free economy," noting that "there is an urgent need for an overhaul of the laws of many of the ministries concerned with the economic aspect."
Alwani explained that "the previous laws adopted by some ministries have opened the door of financial and administrative corruption, and affected the process of foreign investment in the country," he said, adding that "the previous laws which are needed to modify the created overlap in authority."
But even the laws that legitimized Iraqi Council of Representatives Bdorth past and present collided with other laws which stopped the work of some of its clauses, as in the law of the regions and governorates not organized into a Region No. 21 of 2008.
