Today, Saturday, the Oil Products Distribution Company determined the mechanism for distributing derivatives in the governorates, while indicating parties whose interests were struck behind fabricating the fuel crisis, stressing tightening control over fuel smugglers and placing supervisors inside filling stations.
The Director General of the Oil Products Distribution Company, Hussein Talib Abboud, said in a statement to the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "The company has tightened control over fuel smugglers, and supervisors have been placed inside government and civil mobilization stations, which made some parties whose interests were struck to fabricate a crisis to fuel the street.", stressing
"the provision of all kinds of oil derivatives, in addition to the presence of excellent strategic storage in the company's warehouses."
He pointed out that "the value of daily sales amounted to 30 million liters, while last year it amounted to 23 million liters, an average increase of 7 million," explaining that
"the increase in demand for oil derivatives came after the rise in international prices."
He pointed out that "the mechanism for distributing oil derivatives in the governorates, as gas oil is governed by electronic control and within established quotas for each category of vehicles, while white oil is governed by a fuel card and a barcode in order to guarantee the citizen's right through the fuel card he receives on the basis of the ration card."
And he indicated that "the mechanism for distributing gasoline differs, as the northern governorates refuse a fuel card, while the governorate of Mosul is now within the framework of printing a fuel card, while the rest of the governorates receive a fuel card directly."
