The economic expert, Manar Al-Obaidi, explained on Wednesday the highest and lowest levels of non-oil revenue generation during the past years.
Al-Obaidi said, in a Facebook post seen by / the information / that “the data of the Ministry of Finance for the years 2015-2021 show that Iraq’s non-oil revenues during the past seven years reached the highest level in 2015.”
He added, "The state at that time achieved revenues that exceeded the 33 trillion Iraqi dinars, and after that it decreased to the levels of 10 trillion dinars as a maximum."
He explained that "the actual revenues of the year 2021 are the lowest compared to the rest of the years, although the plan was about 20 trillion dinars in the Iraqi state budget."
He considered that “the failure to achieve results less than previous years in many revenue departments despite the presence of the same obstacles and political and regional problems reflects a decline in the ability to obtain these funds,
and reflects the consolidation of the rentier state, which contradicts the most important statement in the white paper that talked about reforms for the transformation.” From a rentier economy to a diversified economy. finished/25h
