Al-Badran said in a televised interview, which was followed by (Baghdad Today), that
"the armed factions and the resistance are seeking calm with America and do not intend to target its interests at all at this time." He added that
"the timing is sensitive and needs calm in order to obtain international support and recognition and to deal with the government of Muhammad Shi'a al-Sudani," noting that
"the United States will ask the government to continue not to target its convoys and its embassy in Iraq in order to continue support." He pointed out that
"the interests of the factions lie in calm in order to engage in some reforms in the joints of the state. The removal of the Sadrist movement from the state and institutions may be part of the government formation strategy."
The election of Abdul Latif Rashid as President of the Republic and the assignment of Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani to form the next government received the blessing of the United Nations and the United States of America represented by their embassies in Iraq.
