Economist Abdul Rahman al-Mashhadani, on Thursday, outlined the steps through which to address the inflation facing Iraq now, adding that
the rise in food contributed to raising inflation rates.
"There are three steps through which inflation rates that are happening now can be controlled, including
reducing fuel prices for citizens and sectors that use it, such as generators,"al-Mashhadani said in an interview with Al-Malouma. He added that
"the corruption deals made by some political parties contributed significantly to raising inflation rates by manipulating the real estate market at double prices than they were, "pointing out that
"the reason for the rise in the real estate market is money laundering for fear of confiscation".
"The new government should work to improve the vocabulary of the ration card in order to reduce its commercial prices in the markets," he added.
It is noteworthy that the high inflation rates have negative effects on the Iraqi economy
and may lead to a major economic recession if the responsible authorities such as the government and the central bank do not hurry to adopt support plans that lead to breaking the pattern of rising inflation and trying to turn it into a downward pattern. Over25 / J
