Iraq is on the verge of introducing the fifth generation services and the Internet through space

Baghdad / The National News Center,
Minister of Communications, Hayam Al-Yasiri, confirmed today, Tuesday, that
the ministry is about to introduce the 5G and Internet services through space.
And the ministry stated, in a statement received by the National News Center, that
“Al-Yasiri attended the digital diplomacy forum that was held by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in the presence of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and a number of parliamentarians and specialists in this field.”
Al-Yasiri stated, according to the statement, that
“the ministry is currently in the process of procedures for the national mobile phone company, which will operate with the fifth generation system, which is in force in a limited number of countries in the world at the present time.” And she added,
"Iraq will join the ranks of developed countries in the world through the use of Internet technology through space, as the ministry is currently in the process of negotiating with international companies in this field, such as SpaceX, Amazon, One Web." Al-Yasiri pointed out,
“The importance of digital diplomacy, since the virtual and digital world has become very influential in society and in creating political, economic and social public opinion, in addition to the importance of rapid communication and the provision of fast internet services,” stressing
“the Ministry of Communications’ endeavor to provide the best advanced services in this field.”
