Ministry of Planning said that there are countries that tried to evade the screening program materials in the country of origin and which has been applied since last April, but without avail.
An official source in the ministry there were attempts by some countries to evade screening program materials in the country of origin, which was implemented last April, saying in a statement quoted (news) that attempts to these countries was due to pressure exerted by traders affiliates by insisting on sending material is scanned to Iraq, and continued, in spite of attempts to evade these countries on this subject, but it failed, refusing to disclose the names of those countries.
Iraq had contracted with two companies, one French and the other Swiss to examine the materials entering Iraq.
The International Organization for Laboratory Accreditation (ILAC) and International Accreditation Organization (IAF) organizations that rely on accredited medical laboratories to build international standard ISO 15189, and the approved inspection points on the international standard ISO 17020.
Iraq is linked with its neighbors through a border ports, most notably the outlet newborn and Rabia with Syria and with Jordan Trebil port, and port Arar with Saudi Arabia, and an outlet and Shalamjah Mundhiriyah with Iran, and port Abraham, which links Iraq to Turkey.
In the same vein called the Economic Commission member Abdul Hussein Resan the need to apply the law of the customs tariff to support the local product, stressing that it does not lead to increased food prices in local markets.
Resan said that there is a package of laws enacted by the House in the previous period have not been applied yet, including the customs tariff law, consumer protection, product and other national laws that support the Iraqi economy and the local product.
He believed Resan need to apply the law of the customs tariff at the present time because of its positive results in support of the local industry and the citizen through getting on the item of a high international standards, which last for a long period of local markets, noting: that most of the goods currently displayed in the Iraqi market quality is good and consume a period shorter life span.
He added that the application of this law does not lead to increased prices in local markets «and opinion that goes into it that it is wrong» the result of what he referred to supplement the law of customs tariff that the price ratios are different from (1% to 2%) between the substance and the other, saying: that the food not covered by the customs tariff, so the application of this law does not lead to increased prices in local markets.
A member of the Economic Commission representative that the law when it was amended by the House recently authorized the Council of Ministers a date for the application of this law, stressing: that the Government is committed to a definite time for the application of this law because of its great importance to the Iraqi economy and local industry.
