BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq: Baghdad witnessed today, Friday, a quiet day following yesterday's bloody explosion that hit different quarters of the capital, at a time the movement of the vehicles were limited, and streets semi-empty, in addition to strict security precautions accompanied with light rains.
Aswat al-Iraq correspondent, quoting a security source, said that "the situation today is stable".
The source added that there are fears among the civilians of more explosions to come this day, which led to minimizing the movement in city markets.
"Concrete blocks were returned in some areas for fear of further terrorist operations", the source disclosed.
Baghdad witnessed a number of continued explosions that led to 70 killings and 180 wounded, mostly of the civilians, at a time the country is having a political crisis following the criminal charges against vice-president Tariq al-Hashimi, and withdrawing confidence from deputy premier Saleh al-Mutlaq of the Iraqiya bloc.
