BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq: Iraqi President Jalal Talabani expressed his confidence with Iraqi judicial system to finalize the charges against vice-president Tariq al-Hashimi.
He confirmed that Hashimi shall be his guest and will stand justice in any place in the country that guarantees the justice of investigations.
In presidential statement, copy received by Aswat al-Iraq, he confirmed abidance by the constitutional framework that gives only the law to finalize such cases.
The statement confirmed that Hashimi is a guest to President Talabani, who is doing his best in the on-going contacts.
Iraqi Interior Ministry announced last Monday the issuance of an arrest warrant against Hashimi, while the Iraqiya TV broadcasted the confessions of Hashimi's bodyguards charging him with terrorist acts in 2009.
Iraqiya bloc, headed by Iyad Alawi, announced it will reject the order of the Higher Judicial Council, as well as the confessions which were done under torture, according to local media.
