Twilight News / U.S. military official revealed on Monday, the presence of two hundred fighters at the al-Qaeda militants and planning assassinations and bombings in Iraq, but stressed that the organization is weaker than ever before.
A spokesman for U.S. forces Bjukanan Jeffrey told the newspaper, World Tribune, the U.S. had seen "Twilight News", "Al-Qaeda is no longer as strong as in the past, but it still exists in Iraq."
A security source earlier said in an interview with "Twilight News" last October about the arrest of the security forces in Anbar province, a suicide bomber with three of the princes of al Qaeda in Anbar province, they were planning to carry out armed operations in the country.
Bjukanan added that "there are about 200 fighters in the al-Qaeda militants and planning assassinations and bombings in Iraq," noting that "the list includes fighters and workers in the field of media and finance."
U.S. officials emphasize that al-Qaeda receded significantly since 2009, the number of members of the organization not to exceed one thousand, mostly located in the northern and western regions of Iraq.
