Iraqi President and Iraqi Parliament Speaker agreed, on Tuesday, to solve Vice-President Tarek Al Hashemi’s issue through legal proceedings and hold a general national congress for all political parties to find solutions and deal with issues concerning state governance.
“Both parties discussed the political situation and the Iraqi crisis,” reported a statement, which Alsumarianews received a copy of, issued by Iraqi President Jalal Talabani’s office after his meeting with Iraqi Parliament Speaker Osama Al Nujaifi in Sulaymaniyah Province. “They agreed to solve Vice-President Tarek Al Hashemi’s issue through legal proceedings which guarantee receiving accurate facts by virtue of law,” the statement added.
“Both parties also agreed upon holding a general national congress for all political parties to deal with issues concerning state governance and find permanent solutions that could end the crisis shaking political life in the country,” the statement announced noting that a preparatory committee will be formed to pave the way to the congress, a source told Alsumaria.
