Maliki stands ready to implement the demands of Anbar

, Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki, announced its readiness to implement all the demands made by the province of Anbar, in what have unveiled a plan to convert many of the powers of the central government to local governments. Maliki said in a statement obtained a copy of it long on the sidelines of his meeting a number of sheikhs and dignitaries of Anbar province, his office in Baghdad,
"The demands made by the province of Anbar are legitimate," stressing "his willingness to meet them all but beyond the circle of his constitutional powers." Maliki revealed the existence of a plan to "convert all the powers of the central government to local governments, except those related to sovereignty and security, foreign policy and the distribution of wealth that must be centralized.
