Baghdad (AIN) –The President, Jalal Talabani, and the leader within the Supreme Iraqi Islamic Council, Adil Abdul Mahdi, emphasized the importance of the mutual cooperation among the blocs to preserve the national achievements.
A Presidential statement received by AIN "Talabani received Abdul Mahdi at his office in Baghdad on Tuesday noon."
"Both sides discussed the political updates and stressed the importance of setting the national interests above all considerations," the statement added.
"Abdul Mahdi praised Talabani's efforts in this serious period to eliminate the dangers by working on consolidating unity among blocs," the statement concluded.
Talabani returned to Baghdad coming from Sulaimaniya province on last Monday to meet the political leaders to prepare for the upcoming conference for which called.
