Talabani is meeting with Jaafari and Abdul-Mahdi and Khuzaie to discuss the National Congress and the political crisis

{Baghdad} Euphrates News announced a presidential statement that the president was held today a series of meetings with political leaders to discuss the political crisis besetting the country.
The statement said that "President Jalal Talabani received in his office in Baghdad, both the leader of the Supreme Council, Dr. Adel Abdul Mahdi, Vice-President of the Republic Dr. Khudair Khuzaie and the head of the National Alliance, Dr. Ibrahim al-Jaafari."
He added, "During the meetings that were held on consecutive morning and afternoon and the afternoon Tuesday, discussed the overall current situation, with emphasis on the necessity of activating the joint work between all political forces in order to protect the gains and put the best interests of the country above all other considerations and interests of narrow factional interests."
The statement said "It was also stressed on the need to ensure that present and future of the Iraqi house and uphold the Constitution and the preservation of democracy emerging in the country, and the search for elements of a solution acceptable to the outstanding problems and agree on a truce between the parties."
He said "it was a review of the preparations that are underway to convene the National Congress expanded powers and political blocs, with emphasis on the need to intensify contacts and expand meetings to create the suitable environment for the conference desired."
And the statement "was also agreed to continue communication and coordination to follow up the current political movement which is sponsored by President Jalal Talabani and focus attention on it."
In turn, praised the leadership of the Supreme Council, Adel Abdul Mahdi, Vice-President of the Republic Khudair Khuzaie and the head of the National Alliance, Ibrahim Jaafari, according to the statement the efforts of President Talabani in these historical moments are sensitive to ward off the dangers and hard work to ensure the unity of the national broad as an option the safest and fittest to protect the gains and achievements and build a new Iraq on the basis of healthy and strong.
The President arrived in Baghdad on Monday, where he met the U.S. Ambassador to Iraq, James Jeffrey and his accompanying delegation.
The meeting dealt with in part by political developments in the country and the efforts of His Excellency the President in order to reach effective solutions to political problems. Finished
