The Under Secretary for Policy Planning, however, Abawi during a meeting with the French ambassador in Baghdad said Iraq is seeking under the umbrella of the Arab League efforts to unify and coordinate positions to find appropriate solutions to the political situation in Syria.
The Foreign Ministry statement on Tuesday that "the Deputy Minister for Policy Planning, however, Abawi received today, the French ambassador in Baghdad, Denis Koya."
He added that "the French ambassador spoke of events in Syria and his country's support for the aspirations of the Syrian people to democracy and freedom."
The Abbawi according to the statement that "the development of situations in Syria worrying, especially after the recent events which claimed the lives of civilians and for some of the confrontations, but Iraq is seeking under the umbrella of the Arab League to unite efforts and coordinate positions to find appropriate solutions to the political situation in Syria in order to stop the violence and support the aspirations of the people Syrian toward democracy and stability. "
He explained, "was also discussed bilateral relations and aspects of cooperation between the two friendly countries and ways of enhancing them in various fields."
