Talabani, Deli stress constitutional rights, statement

BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq : President Jalal Talabani stressed during his meeting with Cardinal Emanuel III Deli the necessity of having legal rights to all Iraqi components according to the constitution, as reported by a presidential statement.
Talabani met today a Christian religious delegation and stated that "Chaldean-Assyrian are among the oldest components that lived in Iraq and have a prominent role in building Mesopotamia culture in the past and present".
He confirmed that the "new Iraq belongs to all its components and religions and have the right to enjoy these rights according to the constitution, with no difference between one group and another".
On their side, the Christian delegation reported to President Talabani their problems and suggestion in regard to Christian properties in Iraq.
President Talabani expressed readiness to "support their legitimate demand at all government establishments".
