invited the foreign ministers of the United Arab Emirates Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Iraq, Hoshyar Zebari from Abu Dhabi to avoid the military option in the standoff with Iran, stressing that the closure of the Strait of Hormuz would negatively affect oil exports.
Zebari said: There is a tension with clear and explicit moves through Iraq and not with the escalation and to address these disparities through military force, but through dialogue and calm. "
Zebari said "There is a crisis of confidence with Iran and we consider ourselves to countries bordering the Persian Gulf and downright influenced by tension and escalation . Everyone affected will be escalation. We are in Iraq, 90% of our oil exports pass through Hormuz. "
said Sheikh Abdullah, "I do not think escalation is useful for the region or to stabilize the market. International economic situation is in crisis and is not useful straining the international markets such escalations. "
He added that "any talk of waterways, particularly of Hormuz has implications on us and we will make every effort so to defuse this crisis."
The UAE on completing the construction of an oil pipeline in June allows export oil without passing through the strategic Strait of Hormuz.
At the end of last December Tehran has threatened to close the Strait of Hormuz if the States have adopted the Western sanctions on its oil exports because of its nuclear program, raising fears in the West.
