BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq: The Iraqi Parliament is to listen to the second reading and discuss the General Amnesty Law, after laying down the main items of its draft-law, next Monday, the Chairman of al-Ahrar (Liberals) Bloc Bahaa al-Aaraji reported on Saturday.
"The Legal Committee completed the necessary adjustments for the said draft-law, and an agreement was reached for its discussion by the Parliament on Monday," Aaraji said in a statement, as was received by Aswat al-Iraq news agency.
Political forces "have reached an agreement on the adjustments for the draft-law, that will be discussed by the Parliament Monday," Aaraji said.
The agreement was reached "for the necessity of legislating the said law after the withdrawal of the US Occupation Forces from Iraq at the end of last month," he said.
"The draft-law will not cover those, whose hands were covered by the blood of the Iraqi people and those who carried out terrorist operations, along with those covered by the Integrity Law and stealing public property, or those belonging to terrorist organizations," he concluded.
