And the bill, the state guarantees the right to form trade unions and professional associations, and join it to the fact that Iraq ratified numerous conventions of Arab and international labor, and that most of the provisions of the Labour Law No. 71 of 1987 is not consistent with the nature of the current stage as well as conflict with a lot of international labor standards that have ratified by the Government of Iraq.
The bill aims to find a legal cover for workers contracts in government departments and the public sector and to make their service is guaranteed for the purposes of granting pension rights as well as respect for the principles and basic rights of workers provided for in international conventions and treaties of Freedom of Association and Protection of the Right to Organise and to eliminate all forms of forced labor, child labor, equality wage and the minimum age for employment.
He referred the bill to the importance of organizing the work of working women and working the events and the work of foreigners in Iraq, working time and wages of workers and their holidays and standardize the provisions of trade union action with the provisions and rules of work and negotiation, arbitration and peaceful solutions before resorting to strike peaceful vacation of law and determine how to resolve collective disputes and individual arise between labor organization and one or more employers and the formation of the Labour Court in all the provinces and the terms of reference and appeal provisions. / 3
