Iraqi Planning announces rise in inflation to 0.1% Shahraaarbnsph

Baghdad, June 19 (Rn) - The Ministry of Planning and Development Cooperation of Iraq, Sunday, the high inflation rate in May (0.1%) compared with the month of April.
The spokesman said ministry spokesman Abdel Zahra al-Hindawi told the Kurdish news agency (Rn) that "the rate of inflation for the month of last May increased by (0.1%) compared with the month of April, and registered an increase up to (6.6%) compared with the month of May of the last year 2010. "
"The Department of Food and non-alcoholic beverages rose by 0.1% for the month of May in 2011 compared to May to 2010 due to rising prices of fruits in all public areas of the country."
He explained that "the Department of clothes dropped by 0.5% in the month of May for the month of April due to a clear reduction reached 3.0% in parts of Kurdistan and 1.5% in the central regions while the percentage decline in the southern regions of 0.9%.."
He explained that "the Department of Housing fell in May by 0.2% last month compared to April after it declined in the Kurdistan region by 1.5% and in the central regions by 0.2% while prices rose in the South by 0.2%."
And that "fuel prices have declined by up to 2.1% as it declined in parts of Kurdistan by 6.1% and 1.9% central regions and in areas south of 0.3%."
He said, "household furnishings and equipment rose by 0.3% and 2.0% Department of Health and the Department of Transportation fell 0.5% and 0.3% Department of Communication and education rose slightly by 0.1% and the Department of restaurants rose 0.2%."
Announced that the Ministry of Planning and Development Cooperation for headline inflation for the month of April by 0.8% for the month of March and by 5.8% for the month of April 2010.
Known that excessive inflation in the general level of prices and rising incomes in cash or a component of cash income such as wages or profits as well as high costs and over-the creation of cash balances.

He favored the Iraqi Central Bank inflation basis for last March by 5.7% from the previous month of February comes because of the high electricity prices.
The main tasks of the Iraqi Central Bank to maintain price stability and the implementation of monetary policy, including exchange rate policies, and management of reserves of foreign currency, and the issuance of currency management, as well as to regulate the banking sector.
