The death of Minister of Finance of Saddam, "al-Azzawi ruled" in prison
BAGHDAD / Baghdadiya News / .. Justice Ministry said on Friday that ruled Mizban Azzawi and Minister of Finance during the former regime, died while being transferred from prison to hospital.
A statement issued by the Ministry of Justice received the agency / Baghdadiya News / copy of it, Friday, that "al-Azzawi was ill (meningioma in the brain) and the Ministry of Justice received from the American side, suffering from the disease, and that his death has had while being transferred from prison to hospital to receive the treatment.
The Hikmat al-Azzawi was born in 1933, a member of a veteran Baath Arab Socialist Party and assumed positions of leadership party and government in the field of economic development during the previous regime, was the central bank governor and minister of trade and finance, but in contrast with the two sons of the former president Saddam kept him out of top jobs during the years 1995 to 1998, then returned to the post of Minister of Finance in July 1999, until the fall of the regime in April 9, 2003.
Arrested Hikmat al-Azzawi on April 19, 2003 and is still in jail until this morning, Friday, before being transferred to hospital for treatment but died before reaching it, / End / 21.
