Talabani and Maliki agree on the need to hold National Conference

During the meeting they discussed the developments of the political situation in the country, where it was emphasized the need to make concerted efforts for the success of the National Conference to be held to resolve the fundamental problems in the country, in addition to emphasizing the importance of creating an atmosphere of harmony and understanding between all the forces and political parties to overcome the obstacles that hinder the path of the process politics in the country.
and matched the views of the President and the Prime Minister about the obligation to accelerate the adoption of the rules of procedure of the Council of Ministers and the adoption of oil and gas law and other laws and solve all the problems and difficult issues in the framework of the Constitution and the law. The other hand, the President received U.S. Ambassador to Iraq, James Jeffrey.
At the meeting there was talk about the general situation in the country and ways to strengthen bilateral relations between Iraq and the United States to serve the common interests of the peoples of the two friendly countries.
It was emphasized that the continuation of efforts that would solve the problems and calm the situation in Iraq and the success of the national conference to be held in the coming period between the political forces.
He praised the U.S. Ambassador to the efforts made by President Talabani to reunite Iraqis wishing to continue this role to bring the views of political parties in accordance with the Constitution and to serve the political process in Iraq.
Talabani welcomed the President and Ambassador Jeffrey decision of the coalition in Iraq to return to attend the meetings of the Council of Representatives, considering this decision a positive step.
