BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq: Iraq's President Jalal Talabani has conferred in Baghdad on Monday night with Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki on the current political developments in the country, and both officials have confirmed necessity to exert further efforts to hold the National Conference to settle the current political problems.
A presidential statement said that President Talabani had met in Baghdad on Monday night with Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki, who visited him on the occasion of his return from his medical trip in Germany, congratulating him for the success of his medical checkups and treatment.
"Discussed in the meeting were also the political circumstances in the country and necessity to exert extensive efforts to achieve the NationalConference, along with the confirmation on creating an atmosphere of understanding among all political forces to overcome the obstacles that hamper the course of the political march in the country," the statement stressed.
