Iraq Statistical System Modernization Project

As part of UNFPA Iraq Country Office support to the National Statistical System (NSS) Modernization Project in Iraq that falls under the UN joint programme with Government of Iraq on Public Sector Modernization (I-PSM), UNFPA is calling for proposals from consultancy firms/ organizations involved in Statistical Systems reform and modernization to carry out Phase II of the project (2012-2015).
Phase I of the NSS project was done during 2011 and evolved around assessing the current Statistical System in the country in many dimensions (Statistical System and Information System, Classification and Coding, Dissemination, Code of Practice, Civil Registration, Legal Framework, Gender Statistics,.. etc) . The outcome of Phase I is an NSS Functional Review Report that highlighted the gaps in the current system and recommended the needed development interventions for the next phase (Phase II).
Therefore, the project during Phase II will be guided by the outcomes of NSS Functional Review report to modernize the NSS in Iraq during 2012-2015 through series of consultancy missions, meetings, trainings and advocacy sessions on the dimensions mentioned above with the national counterparts from the Central Statistical Organization (CSO) and Kurdistan Regional Statistical Office (KRSO) in Iraq.
