BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq: A State of Law MP declared today that his bloc is determined to ensure that the coming National Conference is a success to prove that there is "no unilateral control of power" and the "disputes could be solved through national consensus".
MP Ali al-Shalah told Aswat al-Iraq that the National Conference is "a step to study all issues that need national consensus".
He pointed out that the National Alliance submitted a paper tackling Iraqi problems, "not our demands".
Iraq is witnessing an acute crisis following accusations made against Vice-President Tariq al-Hashimi for "terrorism" and the move to demote al-Mutlaq from his post; both are leading members in opponent Iraqiya bloc.
In an attempt to solve the crisis, President Jalal Talabani suggested holding a national conference for all political blocs to find a way out.
