Mayahi calls to terminate S. Korean Company’s Basmaya housing contract

Baghdad (AIN) –MP Aziz al-Mayahi of the White Bloc, member of the Economy and Investment Committee in Parliament, demanded to “terminate the contract with the S. Korean Company over constructing a housing project and consider it a contract rather than an investment project.”
The White Bloc’s MP said in a press statement Tuesday “The Economy and Investment Committee will pressurize towards withdrawing the Basmaya Housing project from the Korean Company because the price agreed between the Company and the National Investment Commission is 35% higher than normal prices.”
“The NIC dealt with the project as an investment project, while the project could be done a contract to be implemented with direct supervision from the Ministry of Construction and Housing and local governments after choosing the best bids from contracting companies,” he concluded. /End/
