BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq: A Kurdish MP today criticized the threats of Premier Nouri al-Maliki against the French company TOTAL Oil regarding them not having contracts with Kurdistan government, calling him to solve the oil contracts problem look to the potential loss of billions of dollars before uttering such threats.
Kurdish MP Abdul Salam Berwari told Aswat al-Iraq that "there are channels of communication between the center and the region, which should be used when Maliki wants to discuss such issues," criticizing Maliki's threats.
He demanded Maliki to implement his 2007 promises that Iraq should have an oil and gas law.
Premier Maliki warned TOTAL Company not to enter into oil contracts with the Kurdistan region's government.
