Baghdad (AIN) –MP, Mahmoud Othman, of the Kurdistani Allaince described the announcement of the government to mediate between the USA and Iran to settle the crisis, as “Useless statements."
Speaking to All Iraq News Agency (AIN) on Thursday, he said “The crisis between Iran and the USA is bigger than Iraq, but the Iraqi request to not include Iraq in the international sanctions against Iran is a legal request because of its negative effects on Iraq.”
“Such initiative needs bigger countries which have the right for Veto for the rejection of the decisions of the International Security Council such as Russia or China that have good relations with Iran,” he added, calling the government and the political blocs to “settle the internal crisesbefore thinking about the international ones.”
The Iraqi government expressed its readiness to settle the disputes between Iran and the USA.
Iraq played a vital role to settle disputes between Iran and the USA in 2006-2008 where it had held several meetings that resulted in settling the disputes between both countries. /End/
