BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq: Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshiar Zebari held talks with South Korean Foreign Minister Kim Sung-hwan during which a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for diplomatic and political cooperation was signed.
Both sides discussed the increase of cooperation of South Korean companies in fields of energy and investments in Iraq, for projects like housing units and development of steel factory in Basra province.
In a statement issued by the Iraqi Foreign Office, received by Aswat al-Iraq, both sides agreed to provide South Korea of its needs in crude oil.
According to the statement, both sides tackled the situation in the Middle East, the Arab Gulf and the situation in Syria.
The Iraqi delegation was received yesterday by South Korean President Lee Myung-bak.
