Austria show interest in expanding relations with Iraq

Erbil, February 17 (PNA) - The Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Austrian Wolfgang Waldner said his country was "very interested" to develop and expand bilateral relations with Iraq, particularly the economic ones.
The Associated Press quoted Austrian-Waldner said, the governor of Baghdad, Salah Abdul Razzaq, who is visiting Austria currently, that "Iraq is one of the countries that enjoy the highest rates of economic development," noting that the rate of development increased in the year 2011 to reach 9.5 percent.
He explained that Austrian exports to Iraq are rising steadily since 2008, so that the Iraqi market is now the third largest market for exports of Austria, indicating that the volume of trade exchange between the two countries has tripled in the period between 2010 and 2011, and was worth more than 600 million euros.
And by the Austrian Minister of State for Foreign Affairs is convinced that there good investment opportunities for Austrian companies in Iraq, especially in the sectors of infrastructure, water, electricity and hospitals.
The talks also touched on both sides between the internal situation in Iraq a few weeks after the withdrawal of U.S. troops.
