Erbil, February 21 (Rn) - Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki on Tuesday that an Arab summit in Baghdad next month will open a new phase with the Arab countries.
The Baghdad summit was postponed more than once because of the exceptional circumstances experienced by a number of Arab countries last year, which was known as the "Arab spring".
He said Iraqi officials and others in the Arab League summit scheduled to be held in Baghdad in response to the news pointed to the existence of Gulf request for transfer.
A statement issued by the Information Office of Maliki as saying during a meeting with a delegation from the Iraqi Bar Association, said that "Iraq has regained its health and after almost a month will host the summit will open an important new phase in Iraq, in turn carry out with its Arab brothers."
Maliki said he earlier hoped the success of the Arab summit, while urging the Iraqi President Jalal Talabani in the first month of the Arab League to strengthen its relations with Iraq. He said that his country is seeking on that side.
The Arab summit in the Iraqi capital Baghdad, the largest international event organized by the country since 2003, where the secretariat of Baghdad formed a committee to create and insurance requirements for Arab Summit.
Iraq hosted the Arab summit twice, the first summit was ninth in 1978 and was the second summit of the 12 in 1990, which witnessed a sharp tensions between Iraq and Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates broke out after the second Gulf War.
