Baghdad (NINA) - Prime Minister Nouri Al Maliki stressed "the need for cooperation between all parties and political entities in order to promote Iraq’s development and its unity and stability.”
He said, during a meeting with a delegation of Tajdeed Parliamentary bloc, which is headed by Vice President Tariq Al Hashimi, "there are challenges around us, and we must unite our ranks to confront them."
He added "the respect for the law and the independence of the judiciary represent two main pillars in our system, and we all must work to enhance that," according to a statement issued by Maliki’s office.
For their part, Tajdeed bloc MPs stressed the importance of direct communication with the Prime Minister, reiterating their quest to promote national unity and preserve the prestige of the law and the independence of the judiciary, according to the statement.
The delegation called for "opening a new page of cooperation and coordination at various political and parliamentary levels," expressing their confidence in the "success of the Arab Summit in Baghdad, and their readiness to fully cooperate in order to achieve that." /End/
