Foreign Relations Committee invites the international community to remove Iraq from Chapter VII

BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq: demanded the parliamentary Foreign Relations Committee, on Tuesday, the international community to have a role in removing Iraq from Chapter VII, and adopt a clear position on Iraq in support of their issues legitimate, according to a statement issued by the Commission.
The statement pointed out that the Commission received a delegation from the British Embassy today, noting that "the Committee called on Britain and the rest of the world to have a role in removing Iraq from Chapter VII, and not to stand in front of the aspirations of Iraq to rise up and take the leading position in the Arab world and the region."
The subject of Iraq under Chapter VII of the United Nations, which imposed after the entry of troops into Kuwait in 1990, this item allows the use of force against him being a "threat to international security," in addition to large amounts of frozen his assets in international banks for the purpose of payment of compensation, including for those affected by the invasion of Kuwait.
On the other hand pointed out that "the Committee discussed with a delegation from the International Energy Agency situation the oil in the country, and legislation on the subject, in order to prepare an integrated study on the effect the oil in Iraq, within the framework of the memorandum signed in October of last year between the Agency and the government."
The statement added that "the Agency's visit aims to conduct meetings in the House of Representatives and the various ministries for the purpose of collecting the necessary information to carry out scientific analysis in order to form key findings will be published later in a publication the agency's annual World Energy Outlook for the current year 2012 in in October next."
