Iraq a candidate for the position angered the Secretary General of OPEC

Official sources revealed yesterday, on the nomination of senior adviser to Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki and Oil Minister Thamer Ghadban former for the post of Secretary General of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC).
A source in the oil ministry, told AFP: "Iraq is seeking to nominate for this position Anger."
"The final decision will be taken next week," in reference to the regular meeting of the Council of Ministers, which will be held on Tuesday of each week.
For his part, a government source said that "Iraq Thamer Ghadban nominated to compete for the post of Secretary General of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries," without reference to more details.
But Ghadhban rejection in a telephone interview with AFP to comment on this issue at the present time.
Anger will compete to take the office after Abdullah al-Badri, whose term ends later this year.
Anger took over and who is currently the head adviser to Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki, the post of oil minister after 2003.
Anger and holds a petroleum engineering from England and began his work in the Southern Oil Company, then took several positions including Chairman of the Department of Studies and Planning at the Ministry of Oil.
Angry and many research and studies in the field of oil and most of the posts in the global conferences on oil.
Iraq is seeking a founding member of OPEC, which includes 12 countries and pumps 40 percent of the world's oil, to play an important role in the organization after an absence of many years because of the policy of the previous dictatorial regime.
And formed the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries in September 1960, in Baghdad by five oil-producing countries are Saudi Arabia, Iran, Iraq, Kuwait and Venezuela, at the time.
