Baghdad (AIN) –A statement from the Union of the Comoros received by AIN, cited “The President of the UoC has officially accepted the Iraqi invitation to attend Baghdad Summit on the 29th of March 2012.”
The Industry Minister, Ahmed Nasir al-Karbouli, has met the President of the UoC last week and handed him the invitation sent by the President, Jalal al-Talabani.
The statement quoted Karbouli as saying “Baghdad Summit provides the best framework to develop the mutual relations between Iraq and the UoC.”
“The Iraqi government is honored to welcome the President of the UoC,” he added.
The statement added “It is a good chance for the President of the UoC to meet Talabani, the Premier, Nouri al-Maliki and the high officials to discuss the fields that the UoC can get benefit from.”
“The President of the UoC expressed his wish to see Iraq, the country producing of oil, and to construct an oil refinery in the UoC,” the statement concluded. /End/
