Arbil, Iraq: Qatar Airways is expanding its network in the Middle East through two new destinations in Iraq.
Flights to Arbil, the capital of northern Iraq's Kurdistan region, and Baghdad, will begin in May and June respectively.
Qatar Airways CEO Akbar Al Baker announced the plans on the opening day of ITB Berlin, the world's largest travel expo that took place in the German capital.
Both Arbil and Baghdad will be served four times a week. "We plan to enter in a strong way, not by going by with one or two frequencies a week," Al Baker said.
