Baghdad {: News} Euphrates Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki to reach a solution on some outstanding issues with Kuwait and to continue to work to resolve what is left of it.
According to the official Kuwaiti news agency KUNA {} today that "Sheikh Jaber Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah and Prime Minister held at Bayan Palace today held talks with Prime Minister of the Republic of Iraq Nouri al-Maliki."
The discussions have been held according to the agency "in a friendly atmosphere reflected the distinguished brotherly ties between the two countries and discussed ways of strengthening and developing bilateral relations and strengthen cooperation in various fields to achieve the interests of both peoples as well as discuss issues of regional and international issues of common interest."
Following the talks, made Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki's statement said, "he concluded there is strong political will to Kuwait and Iraq to resolve all outstanding issues and the trend towards cooperation in all fields," he said, adding "the agreement to resolve some outstanding issues and continue with the same positive spirit to solve the rest of them."
For his part, Prime Minister of Kuwait Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah that "the directions of the political leadership in Kuwait and the very clear need for the success of this visit by the positive steps actors," denying "the existence of obstacles in front of what is being reached with the brothers in the Iraqi side."
